Once upon a time pens came from geese, letters came in long rolls, and it took fourteen words and three flourishes to say, “Yours truly.”
I am Karissa O’Keefe-Young, the calligrapher behind Pretty Written Things. I live in small town in South Carolina with my husband, cocker spaniel, and two cats. I specialize in envelope addressing as well as other day of paper goods for weddings and special events. My favorite types of items to work on are the small, intimate ones that can be held.
My calligraphy styles are based on my study of Copperplate, Engrosser’s Script, Spencerian, and modern styles. I am a member of The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting, and have taken classes with Master Penman Harvest Crittenden, as well as Connie Chen, Bill Kemp, Michael Ward, Suzanne Cunningham, and Anne Elser.
Pretty Written Things has been featured in US Weekly, BRIDES, Wedding Chicks, Junebug Weddings, Strictly Weddings, and Equally Wed, as well as other leading online and print publications.
